The City of Dasmariñas is located 30-km south of Manila City. It is a bustling city that benefits from an inevitable growth due to influx of industries and large health and educational institutions. The conference is also situated here because it is only 30 minutes drive to Tagaytay City where the Taal Volcano Lake can be viewed and is considered the most picturesque volcano in the Philippines, not to mention one of the 16 Decade Volcanoes in the world.
Apart from nature, the Cavite Province is a valuable place of history for the Philippines. From the conference venue, a 30-minute drive to the Municipality of Kawit will lead you to the Aguinaldo Shrine where the Philippine Independence from Spain was declared in June 12, 1898 by the first Philippine President, General Emilio Aguinaldo. This is also the place where the Philippine flag was first unfurled and where the Philippine national anthem was played (in Spanish).
The host of this year's conference is the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI), which is a member school of De La Salle Philippines that focuses on medical and allied health education, health care provision, and research. DLSMHSI has 7 colleges with more than 9 health science programs that aim to co-lead a sustainable interprofessionale education program for its students and faculty members since the Institution believes that collaborative practice is a viable competency in the future of health care.
