Plenary Session: Stories of best practices on interprofessional collaboration in diverse caring fields and settings (Persons with disabilities and inclusive communities)

Mr. David is the founder of several organizations including Independent Living Learning Centre-Manila, Cebu and Davao; Academia Progresiva de Manila; the REACH Foundation Inc.; and

Project Therapy Education and Assimilation of Children with Handicap (TEACH)---organizations that promote the wellness and social inclusion of thousands of youth with disabilities in the Philippines. He co-founded TheraFree, a national outreach program supported by more than 700 interdisciplinary volunteers. As an Atlantic Fellow for Health Equity in South East Asia, Mr. David developed the Diversity and Inclusion Modules for Preschool to Late Elementary Students (DIMPLES), research-based instructional modules that promote Diversity and Inclusion in schools. For his efforts, he and his programs have earned national and international awards. Among these, the 2008 World Bank Panibagong Paraan: A Competition for Innovative Ideas; the 2008 Apolinario Mabini Presidential Award; the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the

Philippines in 2012 and the Galing Pook Award for Best Local Government Practice. In 2015, Project TEACH, won a United Nations Public Service Award. He is a recipient of the University of the Philippines and the Australian Alumni Excellence Awards for public service.
