Plenary: Institutionalizing IPE in the Philippines: The Lasallian Experience

Dr. Sosa is a pediatric neurologist by profession and is currently the Dean of the College of Medicine at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. With more than 30 years as a medical doctor, she has achieved numerous qualifications, awards, and positions in the field of pediatrics, epidemiology, biomedical ethics, and research. As the Dean of the College of Medicine, she co-initiated the establishment of an institutional Interprofessional Education (IPE) program where faculty members from 7 colleges offering various health profession programs learn and apply IPE principles within the classroom, across practice, and in research. Apart from institutionalizing IPE programs within the university, she aims to cultivate a culture of collaboration among health science students and professionals to reinforce improved health outcomes for Filipino patients.
